Rockford, IL (August 12, 2026) – A 7-year-old boy died following a house fire on Tuesday night, August 11, in the 2200 block of Eastmoreland Avenue. The fire was reported at approximately 9:37 p.m.
Emergency crews searched the home and found the child inside. He later died, according to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.
Another person was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries. The circumstances surrounding the fire remain under active investigation.
