What Information Is Commonly Reviewed After a Pedestrian Crash Involving a Child?
Pedestrian crashes involving children mostly require investigators to examine where the child entered the roadway, vehicle speed, visibility, lighting conditions, and traffic patterns. Physical evidence from the scene, including impact points and roadway markings, may help explain how the collision occurred.
Investigators may also review witness statements, surveillance video, and the driver’s actions before the crash. When a child is involved, medical evaluations can provide additional information about the severity of the injuries and the forces involved in the impact. These findings help build a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
