Christian Co, MO (January 22, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident west of Ozark on State Route CC sent one driver to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon and left both vehicles with extensive damage. The crash happened around 2:20 p.m., approximately one mile west of Ozark, prompting a response from area emergency services.
According to Troop D investigators, a 19-year-old man from Nixa was operating a 2000 Mercedes 320 westbound when he attempted to make a left-hand turn. In doing so, he entered the path of an oncoming 2014 Nissan Murano traveling eastbound. The Murano struck the Mercedes, then veered off the right side of the roadway after impact.
Both vehicles were significantly damaged and had to be removed by Finley River Towing. The young driver of the Mercedes was wearing a seatbelt and sustained injuries. He was transported by TCAD ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for further evaluation. The 64-year-old female driver of the Murano, also from Nixa, was reportedly uninjured.
Authorities closed part of the highway while crews cleared the scene and initiated an investigation. No citations have been reported at this time, and contributing factors are still under review.
We extend our sincere wishes for a full recovery to the injured driver and hope all involved remain safe moving forward.
