Cochise County, AZ (January 19, 2026) – A tragic collision on Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a Hereford man following a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Moson Rd and Hereford Rd, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 1:12 p.m. on January 15. Authorities say 37-year-old Gavin Williams was behind the wheel of a 2011 Toyota Scion traveling eastbound on Hereford Rd when he attempted to make a left turn. During the maneuver, his vehicle collided with a westbound 2007 Dodge 3500 dually.
Emergency crews from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments responded quickly to the scene. Despite life-saving efforts, Williams was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
The driver of the Dodge sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and was transported to Canyon Vista Medical Center for further evaluation and care. No other occupants were reported in either vehicle.
Officials have not released further details surrounding the events that led to the crash, and the investigation remains active as deputies work to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
