Collinsville, TX (January 21, 2026) – A tragic collision just outside the Collinsville city limits claimed the life of a city employee, prompting an outpouring of grief from the local community and a response from multiple emergency agencies.
The head-on crash occurred around 7:00 a.m. in the 8000 block of FM 902. According to Collinsville Fire Chief Damon Stewart, both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and required extrication. Emergency responders worked urgently to free the victims, but the woman driving a compact car—identified as a Collinsville city employee—was pinned for over an hour and tragically died from her injuries. She was reportedly on her way to work at the time of the crash.
The other driver, a man operating a pickup truck, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Denton for further treatment. His current condition has not been released.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating the cause of the crash and are expected to release further information as the inquiry progresses.
