Colorado Springs, CO (January 31, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision Friday night resulted in serious injuries and led to the temporary closure of North Academy Blvd near Briargate Blvd, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Academy and Agora Point. Initial reports indicate that a silver Subaru SUV attempted to make a left-hand turn and was struck by a northbound silver Honda SUV. The impact left the Subaru heavily damaged and led to serious injuries among those inside the vehicle.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on scene and began rendering medical aid to the injured. Individuals from the Subaru were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police confirmed that those involved suffered significant injuries, though no fatalities were reported as of the latest update.
CSPD also noted that based on their preliminary investigation, neither speeding nor driver impairment appeared to have contributed to the crash. Officers closed a section of North Academy Blvd for several hours overnight to allow for cleanup and investigation.
