Frequently Asked Questions
What injuries commonly result from two-vehicle crashes like this one?
Impacts between vehicles frequently cause head and neck injuries, broken bones, and internal injuries, with severity depending on speed and the angle of impact.
What typically causes crashes at busy intersections?
Common factors include failure to yield, running a red light or stop sign, distracted driving, and misjudging the speed of oncoming traffic, though the specific cause in any crash is determined by investigators.
Why is distracted driving considered so risky at intersections?
Taking eyes off the road for even a few seconds at an intersection can mean missing a signal change or another vehicle's path, since drivers there have less time to react than on open roads.
