Concord, NH (March 3, 2026) – One person was taken to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon, March 2, in Concord. The collision happened around 3:45 p.m. in the area of 304 Sheep Davis Road.
Emergency units responded to reports of a crash involving a Volkswagen Jetta and a Nissan Rogue. An officer initially reported that no one appeared hurt. Shortly afterward, one of the drivers complained of a shin injury, prompting fire and rescue crews to respond.
Officials said the injured driver was taken to Concord Hospital with a minor contusion related to airbag deployment. The other driver, described as a woman in her late 60s, was not reported injured. Tow trucks removed both vehicles from the scene by about 4:30 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation. We are thinking of the injured driver and wish them a full recovery.
What Causes Airbag-Related Injuries in Car Crashes?
Airbags are designed to reduce the risk of serious harm during a crash. They deploy quickly during impact to cushion occupants and limit contact with hard surfaces inside the vehicle.
Because airbags inflate in a fraction of a second, they can sometimes cause minor injuries. Bruising, scrapes, or soreness may occur, especially on the arms or legs if they are close to the steering wheel or dashboard.
Even in lower-speed crashes, airbag deployment can be forceful. While these injuries are often minor, medical evaluation can help rule out hidden issues and ensure that drivers and passengers recover safely after a collision.
