The collision was reported shortly before 10 a.m. and involved a black Infiniti Q50, a black Toyota Camry, a white Ford F-150 and at least one additional vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said. One driver told dispatchers her car might not be drivable, and a tow was requested for at least one vehicle involved.
Initial radio traffic listed the crash as unknown injuries before it was reclassified to show units already en route, according to CHP dispatch logs. Caltrans Freeway Service Patrol responded to assist and reported blocking the number one and number two lanes, with additional reports of the middle lanes blocked as units arrived. Ontario Fire Department was also notified.
Traffic backed up heavily in the area as crews worked the scene, with one notification describing an auto aid unit stuck in the resulting congestion west of I-15. Freeway Service Patrol closed out its portion of the incident by 10:43 a.m., though the extent of injuries has not been detailed publicly.
