Clover, SC (August 31, 2026) – A 29-year-old corrections officer lost their life in a two-vehicle crash while traveling to work in Clover on Sunday, August 30. The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. along US 321 North, also known as North Main Street.
The officer was identified as Timothy Norris by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. Norris worked at the Cherokee Detention Center and had been employed there since May 2025. According to the sheriff’s office, Norris graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in May 2026. He was on his way to work when the fatal collision occurred.
Norris is survived by his wife of 10 years. The couple were middle school sweethearts and married after graduating from high school. The Clover Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. Our sincere condolences go out to Timothy Norris’s wife, family, friends, and colleagues.
