COUGAR, Cowlitz County, Wash., Sept. 27, 2026 — Three people were hurt Saturday afternoon, September 26, when an SUV and a motorcycle collided head-on along State Route 503 near Cougar. The Washington State Patrol said the crash happened at milepost 41.
According to the agency, a northbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound motorcycle head-on.
The motorcycle's driver was flown by helicopter to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for treatment. The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were also taken to the same hospital with injuries, troopers said. Both vehicles were destroyed in the impact, according to the report.
