Volusia County, FL (August 11, 2026) – A three-vehicle collision happened around 4:48 p.m. on Monday, August 10, on eastbound I-4 near DeBary, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Ford F-150 was traveling east when its driver failed to stop for traffic and struck another vehicle from behind. That vehicle then hit a car ahead, creating a chain reaction involving three other vehicles.
The F-150 driver later tried to change lanes and hit a third vehicle. The struck vehicle left the roadway and flipped onto its right side. One person involved in the accident suffered minor injuries and did not go to a hospital.
The pickup driver left the crash site after the collision. A witness followed the truck and provided updates to law enforcement, helping deputies locate the driver, a 48-year-old Deltona man.
The man was arrested and faces DUI and other criminal charges. An additional charge was filed for leaving the scene of a hit-and-run involving injury.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the wreck remains underway.
