A short time later, a report of fire was logged in the same location on northbound 280 near Wolfe Road. A tow was later requested for a black Honda CVR with rollover damage. The motorcycle was reported upright at that time.
The California Highway Patrol and Freeway Service Patrol both responded and later closed out their incident logs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are motorcycle crashes more likely to happen at intersections or ramps?
Many motorcycle crashes occur where vehicles merge, turn or cross paths, such as ramps and intersections, because drivers may not see a smaller motorcycle in time to react.
Does road surface affect motorcycle safety in a crash like this?
Yes. Uneven pavement, debris or wet surfaces can affect a motorcycle's traction and stability more than they would a car, especially during sudden braking or a lane change.
What gear helps reduce rider injury in a crash?
A DOT-approved helmet, a riding jacket, gloves and boots can reduce the severity of head, skin and limb injuries if a rider is thrown from the bike or slides on pavement.
What usually causes motorcycle accidents on freeways?
Common factors include a driver failing to see the motorcycle, sudden lane changes, following too closely and speed differences between vehicles.
