Dalton, GA (May 20, 2026) – Three firefighters were treated after suffering apparent heat exhaustion while responding to a house fire in Dalton on Tuesday, May 19. The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. at 1906 Bedford Drive.
Firefighters arrived and found that the fire had spread into the attic of the home. All available city fire units responded to help bring the fire under control.
The three firefighters were taken to Hamilton Medical Center for treatment. Officials later said all three were treated and released from the hospital and were recovering at home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Additional details may become available as authorities continue their review.
