Dayton, OH (January 5, 2026) – A serious hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning at the intersection of Siebenthaler Ave and Zephyr Dr left at least four people injured, including one individual reportedly pinned inside the vehicle and another bleeding from the head.
According to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 3:00 a.m. following reports of a major collision involving multiple injuries. Upon arrival, medics transported four individuals to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.
Eyewitness accounts and a 911 caller indicated that a gray SUV with tinted windows struck another vehicle near the 3400 block of Siebenthaler Ave before fleeing the scene. The impact left the driver of the struck vehicle trapped against the dashboard and unable to move, while the passenger was reported to be bleeding from the head. The fleeing SUV was last heard speeding away with its damaged tires screeching, according to the caller.
The intersection remained active for some time as emergency responders worked to extricate victims, secure the scene, and gather witness statements. Dayton police are actively investigating the crash and searching for the hit-and-run driver involved.
We send our deepest concern to the victims of this traumatic incident and hope for their full recovery.
Hit-and-Run Accidents in Ohio
The early morning crash on Siebenthaler Ave in Dayton illustrates the devastating toll of hit-and-run accidents—events that not only cause physical harm but often leave victims without immediate answers or accountability. When a driver flees the scene, it complicates both emergency response efforts and the legal process for those injured.
In this case, the injuries were serious: one victim was pinned inside the car, and another suffered visible head trauma. These are hallmark signs of high-impact collisions. The act of fleeing—especially after causing such harm—violates Ohio law and carries severe penalties, both criminal and civil. Unfortunately, hit-and-run incidents remain a persistent issue in many parts of the state, particularly in urban areas during late-night and early morning hours.
Beyond the physical injuries, survivors of such crashes often endure emotional trauma and mounting uncertainty. Victims may face long recovery periods, rising medical costs, and ongoing questions about who is responsible. While law enforcement pursues leads, families are left managing the fallout alone.
That’s why it’s so important for those affected to seek support early. Medical follow-up, legal guidance, and access to victim assistance programs can make a meaningful difference in the days and weeks after a crash.
