Anderson, SC (August 10, 2026) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a fatal head-on collision on Saturday night, August 8, on SC Highway 81 near Bridges Drive in Anderson County.
The collision happened around 10:30 p.m. A 2016 Nissan Altima was traveling south on SC Highway 81 while a 2021 Toyota Corolla was heading north, according to officials. The Nissan driver, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, crossed the center line and struck the Toyota head-on. The Nissan driver died as a result of the crash.
The Toyota driver was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment. The deceased person had not been publicly identified by the Anderson County Coroner’s Office. The incident is actively being investigated.
