Sidney Township, MI (September 12, 2026) – Authorities were dispatched to South Sheridan Road near Ruby Road on Thursday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash that left a 68-year-old Stanton man dead.
The crash was reported around 4:17 p.m. on September 10. Investigators said the man was driving a 2018 Subaru northbound when his vehicle crossed the centerline into southbound traffic. The Subaru sideswiped a southbound 2020 Buick driven by a 77-year-old Lyons woman before striking a southbound 2017 Chevrolet head-on.
The Chevrolet was driven by a 55-year-old Fenwick woman. The Stanton man was flown to Corewell Health Butterworth Campus, where he later died from his injuries. Alcohol or drug use was not believed to be a factor.
Our condolences go out to the victim’s loved ones.
Safety on Two-Lane Roads
Crossing the centerline on a two-lane roadway can create a serious risk of head-on and sideswipe collisions. Drivers should remain in their lane, maintain a safe speed, and stay alert for vehicles approaching from the opposite direction.
Seat belts provide protection during collisions and should be worn by every occupant. Drivers should also avoid distractions and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
