DeLand, FL (January 25, 2026) – A tragic accident claimed at least one life on Saturday morning following a collision on E New York Ave near Old Sawmill Rd in the DeLand area of Volusia County.
The crash occurred around 9:08 a.m., prompting a swift response from Volusia County emergency services. According to reports, a serious collision involving at least one vehicle resulted in fatal injuries at the scene. Emergency medical personnel arrived within minutes and worked to assess those involved.
Despite life-saving efforts, authorities confirmed that one person succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
Investigators remained on scene for an extended period, documenting evidence and redirecting traffic away from the impacted portion of E New York Ave. The surrounding area experienced delays as officials conducted a preliminary review of the incident.
