What Happens After a School Bus Leaves the Roadway?
When a school bus leaves the roadway, several factors are often reviewed to better understand what occurred. Road conditions, visibility, and traffic signs at the intersection can all influence how a crash unfolds. Even small details, like how quickly a vehicle approaches a stop, may affect the outcome.
Passenger safety is another focus in these situations. Seat positioning, bus design, and the way riders were seated at the time can shape injury outcomes. Larger vehicles, such as buses, may also travel farther off the road due to their size and weight.
Damage to nearby property, such as trees or structures, can also provide clues. These impacts may help show the path the vehicle took after leaving the roadway and how the incident developed over time.
