Oxford Twp, MI (June 18, 2026) – A collision involving a semi-truck and a Buick Regal happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, on N Lapeer Rd near Oakwood Rd in Oxford Township, Oakland County.
A 30-year-old man from Attica Township was driving a 2014 Buick Regal southbound when a semi-truck using a median crossover entered the vehicle’s path, according to the released report. The two vehicles collided, leaving the Buick driver trapped inside.
Emergency units helped free the driver before he was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he remains critically hurt. The semi-truck driver was not hurt. Investigators said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have contributed, while speed by the Buick driver may have been a factor.
