Rockwell, NC (August 18, 2026) – One person had to be extricated from their vehicle on Tuesday morning after a collision involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 52 between Crescent Road and Stone Road in Rockwell, a small town in Rowan County east of Salisbury.
Fire crews worked to free the driver, who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The road has since reopened, though crews remained at the scene. The cause of the wreck was not immediately known, and it was not clear whether anyone would face charges.
