Shakopee, MN (August 30, 2026) – A fatal incident on southbound US-169 near County Road 21 in Shakopee claimed the life of a 48-year-old driver early on Friday, August 28. He was struck while outside his vehicle around 1:59 a.m.
The driver, identified as Abdulahi Mohamed Siad of Minneapolis, had stopped his 2025 Nissan Rogue on the right shoulder. He exited the vehicle and was struck by a southbound 2014 BMW X5, according to the report. The BMW was driven by 18-year-old Fabian Mauricio Ventura of Shakopee. He was not injured, and three passengers in the Nissan were also reported uninjured.
The roadway was dry when the incident occurred. The circumstances surrounding why Siad exited the Nissan were not provided in the available report. The incident remains under investigation.
