Why Overturned Vehicle Crashes Require Careful Response
Overturned vehicle accidents can create additional risks because occupants may become trapped and the vehicle may be unstable. Crews usually need to secure the vehicle before safely helping people inside, especially when the car is resting on its side or roof.
Investigators usually examine vehicle positions, roadway conditions, damage patterns, and available video footage after these crashes. They may also review witness statements and other evidence to understand how the vehicle lost control. Factors such as speed, driver actions, road conditions, and contact with another vehicle can all influence how an overturned vehicle accident happens.
