York, SC (September 1, 2026) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a head-on crash on Sunday afternoon on Hord Road near Turkey Creek Road. The collision happened around 12:52 p.m. on August 30.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2016 Ram pickup was traveling north on Hord Rd when it was struck head-on by a southbound 1992 Honda Accord. The Ram driver was taken by EMS to a local hospital with injuries that were not immediately known.
The Honda driver died at the scene and was later identified as 29-year-old Daryn Hill. The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
