How Multi-Vehicle Crashes Are Investigated
Multi-vehicle crashes require investigators to examine the actions and positions of each vehicle involved. They may review vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness statements, and available video footage to determine how the collision unfolded.
When a vehicle leaves the scene, investigators may also examine evidence from the roadway and surrounding areas to help identify what happened. Factors such as vehicle movement, traffic conditions, and physical evidence can help create a clearer timeline of the crash.
