Gillespie County, TX (July 29, 2026) – A driver died and a passenger was hospitalized after a rollover crash Monday night, July 27, at Ranch Road 1323 and Willow City Loop near Fredericksburg, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded around 9:35 p.m. and found the driver unresponsive and the passenger walking near the vehicle.
Investigators said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to slow for the turn, causing the vehicle to strike a boulder and a fence before rolling over. The driver was taken to Methodist Hospital Hill Country, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger was airlifted to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.
