Palm Springs, CA (August 19, 2026) – A crash involving a gravel truck and a Mazda was reported on Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 near Haugen-Lehmann, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch information.
The collision occurred around 6:52 a.m. on eastbound I-10 near mile marker 21.8. Dispatch records indicate a red Mazda collided with an orange dump truck. Both vehicles came to rest on the right-hand side of the roadway.
California Highway Patrol requested a tow truck for the Mazda, and Cal Fire was notified as well. Both parties were reported to be out of their vehicles following the crash.
The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation. A witness reportedly told authorities that the red Mazda had been driving recklessly before the crash and said dashcam footage was available.
