How Can Helmets Reduce Injuries for Scooter Riders?
Helmets can help protect the head when a scooter rider falls or is struck by another road user. They are designed to absorb some of the force reaching the head, which can reduce the risk of certain head injuries.
Riders can also lower their risk by following traffic signals, maintaining a safe speed, and staying alert around intersections. Proper lighting and reflective clothing can make riders easier for others to see, especially after dark.
Protective gear should fit correctly and be appropriate for the activity. A helmet should sit securely on the head and remain fastened during every ride. Following basic safety practices can help reduce the likelihood and severity of injuries during scooter accidents.
