Frequently Asked Questions
What steps can lower the chance of a serious crash?
Keeping a safe following distance, avoiding distractions, and adjusting speed for traffic conditions all reduce the odds of a collision, especially in congested express lane corridors.
What injuries commonly result from car accidents like this one?
Head pain, dizziness, neck strain, and other soft-tissue injuries are common even in crashes that don't appear severe at first, which is why medical evaluation afterward matters.
What typically causes crashes on busy freeway corridors?
Sudden braking, lane changes, following too closely, and driver distraction are frequent contributing factors in multi-vehicle freeway collisions.
Does speed make a difference in how severe a crash is?
Yes. Higher speeds mean less time to react and more force at impact, which generally leads to more serious injuries and vehicle damage.
What to Do After a Car Accident in El Monte, CA
If you're involved in a crash on a freeway or express lane, try to move to a safe area if your vehicle is drivable and it's safe to do so. Turn on hazard lights and call 911 to report the collision and request medical help if anyone feels pain, dizziness, or disorientation, even if symptoms seem minor at first. Exchange information with other drivers and note details while they're fresh. Seek a medical evaluation promptly, since some injuries don't show symptoms right away. Keep records of any treatment and follow up with your insurer once you've been checked out.
