Yates Center, KS (July 10, 2026) – A 73-year-old woman suffered suspected serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Main Street and Bell Street in Yates Center on Tuesday, July 7, just before 2 p.m.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped at the stop sign on Bell Street facing east, while a 2011 Pontiac was traveling south on Main Street toward the intersection. The Silverado entered the intersection and collided with the Pontiac as it proceeded through.
The Pontiac was driven by a 20-year-old Yates Center man, who was not injured. His 73-year-old passenger, also from Yates Center, suffered suspected serious injuries. The Silverado was driven by a 14-year-old from Yates Center, who was not injured in the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with more information expected to be released later.
