What Happens After a Head-on Crash on Curving Roadways?
Head-on crashes on curved roadways lead investigators to closely examine lane position, speed, and driver control. Even a brief loss of control on a curve can cause a vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic. Road design and visibility are also reviewed to understand how quickly drivers could react.
Investigators typically study skid marks, vehicle damage, and final resting positions to reconstruct the sequence of events. Weather and lighting conditions may also be considered if they affect visibility. In many cases, both vehicle inspections and roadway assessments are combined to determine how the crash developed from start to finish. These findings help clarify what factors contributed to the collision.
