Frequently Asked Questions
What injuries are most common in car accidents like this one?
Crashes involving entrapment often cause cuts, bruising, and injuries to the head, neck, or chest from the impact and from being pinned in the vehicle. The severity varies widely and depends on speed and the angle of impact.
What usually causes two-vehicle crashes at intersections or roadways like this?
Common factors include failing to yield, misjudging another driver's speed, distraction, and unsafe lane changes. Investigators typically review the vehicles' paths and any available video before determining a cause.
Why is distracted driving considered such a serious risk?
Even a few seconds of taking your eyes off the road can mean missing a stopped vehicle or a lane change in progress, which is often enough time for a crash to develop.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Elverta, CA
If you're involved in a crash, try to move to a safe spot if your vehicle is drivable and call 911 right away. Even if you feel fine, it's worth getting checked by a medical professional, since some injuries like whiplash or internal bruising don't show symptoms immediately. Take photos of the vehicles and the scene if it's safe to do so, make sure to exchange information with the other driver, and get the names of any responding officers or agencies. Keep a copy of the official collision report once it's available, and follow up with your doctor if any pain or stiffness develops in the days afterward.
