Why Can Evening Crashes on Bypass Roads Create Added Risks?
Bypass roads usually carry faster-moving traffic around busy urban areas, which can increase the forces involved when a collision occurs.
During evening hours, changing light conditions and heavier traffic can also affect how quickly drivers recognize hazards or slowing vehicles ahead.
Travel speed, visibility, traffic volume, vehicle position, and roadway layout can all influence injury severity. Crashes on bypass routes can also disrupt traffic quickly because damaged vehicles may block lanes used by through traffic.
