Farmington, WV (August 28, 2026) – Two women were killed Wednesday evening, August 26, in a head-on crash on Helens Run Road in Farmington. The collision happened at approximately 5:45 p.m.
According to witness reports provided to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a northbound vehicle.
A 26-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The 39-year-old driver of the other vehicle died while being transported by medical helicopter.
A young female passenger in the southbound vehicle was reported to be in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation. We extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the two women who died, and we hope the injured passenger continues to recover.

Head-on collisions can expose occupants to very strong forces because vehicles traveling in opposite directions rapidly close distance before impact.
