Farmersville, CA (January 13, 2026) – A tragic incident on January 11 claimed the life of an 87-year-old man after he was struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected DUI motorist along South Farmersville Blvd near Oakland St, according to the Farmersville Police Department.
Police were called to the 600 block of South Farmersville Blvd around 5:30 p.m. and discovered the elderly pedestrian suffering from severe injuries in the roadway. First responders provided immediate aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The man’s identity has not yet been released pending family notification.
Authorities stated that a 2002 black Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 38-year-old Valentin Torres of Exeter, was traveling along the roadway when the collision occurred. While investigators say the pedestrian did not yield the right of way, Torres was found to be under the influence and was subsequently arrested. He now faces felony DUI charges.
Torres remained at the scene and cooperated with officers during the investigation, which remains ongoing.
