Brownstown Township, MI (August 19, 2026) – A 53-year-old Newport man lost his life on Tuesday morning, August 18, after his minivan rear-ended a semi-truck in Brownstown Township. The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. near Telegraph Road and Sibley Road.
The police said the semi-truck had stopped to make a left turn when the minivan struck it from behind. The van driver suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. Authorities continue to review the crash and the events that led to the fatal impact.
