Why Rollover Crashes Can Be Particularly Dangerous
Rollover crashes are among the most severe types of collisions, often resulting in serious injuries or fatalities. They typically occur when a vehicle loses stability due to sharp turns, sudden swerves, or high-speed maneuvers, and are more likely in SUVs, trucks, and taller vehicles. Seat belt use is critical in preventing occupants from being ejected or sustaining severe trauma.
Road conditions, vehicle speed, and weight distribution can all influence the likelihood of a rollover. Emergency crews often face challenges accessing trapped passengers, especially when vehicles come to rest on their sides or roofs. Awareness of these risks can help drivers navigate safely and reduce the chance of such dangerous accidents.
