Atlanta, GA (June 17, 2026) – Several firefighters with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department were evaluated for injuries after a crash involving a fire truck and a passenger vehicle at Lenox Road NE and Peachtree Road NE in Buckhead on Tuesday morning, June 16.
Emergency units responded to the scene around 7:40 a.m., and the intersection remained partially closed as of 9:30 a.m. Officials said the fire truck was responding to an emergency call with its lights and sirens activated. It came to a stop before entering the intersection. As it proceeded, it was struck by a car traveling through the intersection.
The driver of the car was not identified, but refused medical transport to a hospital. The driver was also issued a citation following the crash. Several firefighters involved were evaluated for injuries, though the extent of those injuries has not been fully detailed. This is a developing story.
