Cedar City, UT (July 20, 2026) – Five adults were hospitalized after a rear-end crash on Saturday afternoon, around 2:45 p.m., on Interstate 15 near mile marker 98 in northern Iron County Saturday afternoon.
According to official statements, a white Jeep stopped on the side of the highway after the driver experienced problems with the vehicle’s windshield wipers during heavy rain. The Jeep had its hazard lights activated while waiting for the weather conditions to improve. A Tesla later approached the area and struck the rear of the Jeep.
Officials said the Tesla was traveling too fast for the conditions and had poor tire conditions. Five people from both vehicles were taken to the hospital, and one person in the Tesla required extrication. That person was described as having a non-life-threatening condition.
