Frequently Asked Questions
Why is distracted driving dangerous in intersection crashes like this?
Even a brief lapse in attention at an intersection can prevent a driver from noticing crossing traffic, signals, or pedestrians until it is too late to stop safely.
How do road conditions or debris contribute to crashes?
Objects or debris in the roadway can force sudden lane changes or braking, which can lead to collisions, especially in busy intersections with multiple lanes of traffic.
What should I do immediately after a car accident?
Move to a safe location if possible, check for injuries, call 911, and exchange information with other drivers while waiting for law enforcement to arrive.
Where do most traffic accidents happen?
Many crashes occur at or near intersections, where vehicles crossing or turning paths create a higher chance of collision.
