Rollover Crashes at Busy Urban Intersections
Intersections such as Metro Parkway and Landing View Road can create risk due to turning movements. When injuries are reported in Fort Myers, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and assist those involved.
Rollover crashes can occur when the force of a collision shifts a vehicle’s balance or lifts one side off the ground. Pickup trucks and other taller vehicles may be more likely to overturn during certain impacts because of their higher center of gravity.
When a vehicle rolls onto its side or roof, it may block lanes and increase the risk for approaching drivers. Responders often close portions of the roadway while damaged vehicles are removed and the area is cleared for safe travel.
