Fort Worth, TX (January 20, 2026) – A deadly crash involving multiple vehicles brought traffic to a halt Monday evening along Southwest Loop 820 near Bryant Irvin Lane, leaving one person dead and prompting an extended investigation by Fort Worth Police.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m., causing significant delays on the highway during peak commute hours. Responders shut down several lanes of traffic while they worked to manage the scene and begin a preliminary investigation into the fatal collision.
Authorities remained on site for several hours, and it wasn’t until around 10:00 p.m. that all lanes were reopened to traffic. The full circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been made public.
The identity of the deceased individual has not been released and will be confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
