Frequently Asked Questions
Does speed make a difference in how bad a crash turns out? Yes. Higher speeds give drivers and riders less time to react and increase the force involved in a collision, which usually means more serious injuries.
Why is it risky for a vehicle to pass or turn when another vehicle is nearby? Passing in an opposing lane or turning across traffic cuts down the time both parties have to see each other and react, which is a common factor in intersection and lane-change crashes.
What should someone do right after a crash like this? Call 911, move to safety if possible, avoid moving anyone who is seriously injured unless there's immediate danger, and wait for police and medical responders to arrive and document the scene.
