Greene, MO (February 4, 2026) – An accident involving two vehicles resulted in injuries on Tuesday evening in Greene County, according to available reports. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on February 3 along West Sunshine Street, about half a mile west of Springfield, leading to a response from local emergency crews.
Initial information indicates that a 2017 Nissan Sentra was stopped along the roadway when it was struck by a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Impala. Following the impact, the Chevrolet traveled off the roadway. The collision caused moderate damage to the Nissan and total damage to the Impala, with both vehicles later removed from the scene by towing services.
Medical personnel arrived to assess those involved and provide care to the injured. The 54-year-old male driver of the Nissan sustained injuries and was transported by emergency medical services to Mercy Springfield for further evaluation and treatment. The 77-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet was evaluated at the scene.
Traffic in the area was impacted while crews worked to assist those involved, manage the scene, and clear damaged vehicles from the roadway. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
