The crash happened just before noon, according to firefighters who responded to the scene. It involved two vehicles, including an SUV.
The Gunter Police Department said the driver of one vehicle was killed. That driver's passenger was taken to a hospital with severe injuries, police said. One occupant of the SUV was flown to a hospital, and an ambulance carried two more passengers to a local hospital, according to the report.
The stretch of FM 121 involved was closed for a time while crews worked the scene.
