What Happens During a Crash Involving Entrapment?
Crashes involving entrapment often require specialized rescue efforts. When a person cannot exit a damaged vehicle on their own, responders may use hydraulic tools to remove doors, cut away sections of the frame, or lift parts of the vehicle to create space.
These situations can take longer to clear than other accidents because crews must work carefully to avoid causing further harm. Medical teams usually assess injured people as soon as they can safely reach them, sometimes providing care during the rescue process.
Road closures are common during these incidents to allow enough room for equipment and emergency vehicles. The focus remains on safely removing those trapped and getting them to a hospital as quickly as possible.
