Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if I see a vehicle drifting into my lane?
Slow down, move toward the shoulder if possible, and sound your horn to alert the other driver. Avoid swerving sharply, since an overcorrection can cause a separate crash or a rollover.
What injuries are common in head-on crashes?
Occupants often suffer chest, head, and leg injuries from the force of impact, along with internal injuries. Ejection, partial or complete, raises the risk of fatal injury significantly.
What typically causes head-on collisions?
Common factors include a driver crossing the center line due to distraction, fatigue, impairment, or a medical emergency, as well as passing maneuvers gone wrong and road conditions that reduce traction or visibility.
What to Do After a Head-On Crash in Hamilton Township, PA
If you're involved in or witness a head-on crash, call 911 right away and stay put unless your vehicle is at risk of being struck again. Check on other occupants only if it's safe to do so, and avoid moving anyone with a suspected neck or back injury. Even if you feel fine afterward, remember to seek a medical evaluation soon, since some injuries from this kind of impact don't show symptoms immediately. Make sure to keep records of any police report, medical visits, and vehicle damage in the days that follow, as they can matter later for insurance purposes.
