Multi-Vehicle Crash Risks on Rural Highways
Crashes involving multiple vehicles can quickly escalate when traffic is traveling at highway speeds. When a vehicle crosses into oncoming traffic, drivers often have little time to react, increasing the likelihood of chain-reaction collisions.
Rural highways can present additional challenges, including limited lighting and higher speeds. Emergency responders often close roadways to safely treat victims, investigate the crash, and remove damaged vehicles before reopening the area to traffic.
