Harris County, TX (January 18, 2026) – A man was struck and killed by an SUV Friday night while attempting to cross Kuykendahl Rd in north Harris County, according to local authorities.
The fatal incident occurred on January 17 at approximately 9:20 p.m. in the 18000 block of Kuykendahl Rd. Preliminary findings from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the male pedestrian was crossing the roadway in an area without a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a gray SUV traveling northbound. Officials stated the man failed to yield the right of way before entering traffic.
Medics from Harris County EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead at approximately 9:27 p.m. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver and a passenger in the SUV were unharmed and remained at the scene. Authorities noted that both individuals fully cooperated with investigators, and there was no indication of driver impairment.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is actively investigating the crash to determine all contributing factors.
