The crash was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on NB I-880 just south of Route 92, near Jackson Street, according to California Highway Patrol radio traffic. A gray sedan sustained major front-end damage, and a red pickup truck sustained moderate rear-end damage, indicating the vehicles collided in that order of impact.
Officers on scene initially described the collision as having no visible injuries but requested paramedics after finding at least one lane blocked, according to dispatch logs. The CHP later upgraded the call to a crash with minor injuries. Two people were reportedly evaluated for possible injuries and transported to Eden Medical Center, authorities said.
